Yahoo Mail has launched an updated app with AI-powered capabilities, a messaging-first interface, and first-of-its-kind gamified features. It is designed to assist users in staying organised and enhancing their inbox management.
According to Yahoo, the new Mail app can now summarise messages, suggest next steps, help users compose emails, and enable quick actions directly from the inbox view, making it easier to sort, categorise, and manage their messages.
The company leveraged AI and gamification tools to create this experience.
Currently, the new Yahoo Mail app experience is available for iOS in the US.

The updated Mail app features AI-generated one-line email summaries that preview message contents and proposed actions, along with response suggestions offering a quicker way to review an email and reply. Users can view bills, access verification codes, track packages, view images and attachments, add events to their calendars, RSVP to invites, and more with the help of the quick-actions interface.

It also customised notifications to alert users of the email categories that are most important to them, as per the release.
It also helps users adjust the tonality of a message and make it appear more professional, friendly, formal, or concise with the help of a new AI-powered composition feature. The company also allows users to streamline their primary inbox. They can prioritize important messages and organize emails by sender, content, and topics. They can also unsubscribe from specific senders and delete messages with just a tap, as per the company.
The app adds a fun twist to email management by introducing gamified inbox cleanup. Users are prompted to delete, archive, or mark emails as read, with a feature that can tidy up an inbox in seconds.
Additionally, the app allows users to link multiple email accounts in one place, so anyone using Gmail, Outlook, or any other email provider can take benefits of all that Yahoo has to offer.
