Apple is reportedly working on a foldable iPhone, and there is a lot of speculation about the device. Now, the latest speculation has surfaced online. The tipster shared the details of the display. The latest information also suggests that Apple’s foldable iPhone might support apps made for the iPad.
A post on Weibo (Chinese microblogging platform) by Digital Chat Station suggests that Apple’s foldable iPhone will have a display with an almost 4:3 aspect ratio. This is the same aspect ratio used in most iPads, including the standard iPad, iPad Air, and iPad Pro, except for the smaller iPad Mini. The foldable iPhone might use iPadOS because of its large display.
According to the tipster, Apple chose to give it a display with the same aspect ratio as the iPad to make sure apps work properly. This way, Apple can let iPad apps run on the foldable phone’s inner screen, which will have a similar screen ratio to iPads.
Earlier, the tipster claimed that Apple’s first foldable iPhone would have a 7.74-inch inner screen.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman recently claimed that Apple might use some of the technology used in the purported iPhone 17 Air, which is rumoured to arrive later this year as Apple’s slimmest smartphone. It is said that the device might launch as early as next year. However, since Apple hasn’t officially confirmed anything about entering the foldable phone market.
