Instagram Introduces New Feature ‘Profile Cards’: Everything You Need To Know
2 min readAdd TechInformer as a preferred source on Google

To make the process of sharing Instagram profiles easy and more stylish for users, Instagram has introduced a new feature, Profile Cards. It is designed to function like a business card for user profiles. Instead of sharing their entire profile, users can now share a digital card.

This two-sided digital card displays all the key details of the user’s Instagram profile.

Features

As it is a two-sided digital card, one side of the card contains all the details of the user’s profile, such as the user’s Instagram handle, bio, profile picture, and category (like personal, creator, or business).

It not only carries the details of users’ profiles but also allows them to customize it according to their mood. Users can add a song of their choice to the card. They can also change the background and add links.

The other side contains a scannable QR code through which anyone can access and follow the profile by scanning it.

How To Customise Profile Cards

You can create your own Profile Card by following these simple steps:

Go to Instagram profile > Click share profile > Select the pencil icon to edit your Profile Card > Share it on your story.

The Profile Card also features an “Add to Story” option, enabling a rotating, double-sided display of the card. This allows users to showcase their customised digital Profile Cards in an interactive way.

Meta told TechCrunch that this new feature is a response to more Gen Z users who are using their Instagram as a digital resume. The company quoted a recent survey showing that more than half of Gen Zers want to become influencers, and this new feature of Instagram will help them present themselves to others.

Creators and professionals can share their Profile Cards with brands or potential collaborators in an interactive way. It will also help the users to make new friends and expand their network.
