The iPhone 17 series reportedly features Samsung’s new OLED screen. It is expected to debut in the second half of 2024. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S25 series might use older display technology.
As per a post of user @Jukalosreve on X (formerly known as Twitter), the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air (or iPhone 17 Slim) are expected to feature Samsung’s advanced M14 OLED displays.
Exclusive: The iPhone 17 Vanilla/Air is now equipped with the M14 panel.
(Previously, within the iPhone series, the M14 was used only in the iPhone 16 series’ Pro/Pro Max models.)$AAPL

This marks a shift from the previous year when only the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max were equipped with the M14 panels. But this time, all the models of the iPhone 17 series will get the same high-quality screen technology, offering enhanced brightness and color reproduction across the board.
The Google Pixel 9 series and the iPhone 16 Pro Max both have Samsung’s new M14 OLED displays. These displays offer better brightness and more accurate colors compared to older OLED panels.
If this claim turns out to be true, all four iPhone 17 models will have better displays. It is also expected that Apple is working on adding a higher refresh rate for the standard and ‘Air’ models in the iPhone 17 series.
As per the previous reports, Samsung might use its older M13 screen technology for the Galaxy S25 series. This display is also used in the Galaxy S24 series, the iPhone 16, and the iPhone 16 Plus.
