Ubisoft has announced that a big transformation for Rainbow Six Siege will be revealed at Siege X Showcase on March 13. According to the teaser shown in the Six Invitational championship weekend, it hinted at improved graphics and sound, more tactical gameplay, and new ways to enjoy the game. Based on the announcement, the game appears to be getting a new title: Rainbow Six Siege X.
The showcase will be broadcast live on the Rainbow Six Siege Twitch channel at 10 AM PT / 6 PM CET (11:30 PM IST). Ubisoft also shared the details for people who want to attend the event in person in Atlanta, US.
In a blog post, the game developer also said that Year 10 of Rainbow Six Siege will begin with the first season, Operation Prep Phase, which will introduce a new operator named Rauora.
Rauora has a Deployable Omnilink Mesh (DOM) Launcher to place bulletproof panels in doorways, changing the battlefield and affecting how combat flows. She will be available at the start of the season through the Battle Pass and can later be unlocked with Renown or R6 Credits.
The DOM Launchers deploy bulletproof panels in doorways, limiting enemy visibility and movement.
Attackers and Defenders both can open and close the panels. However, Attackers have an advantage as they can do it faster and temporarily lock out Defenders.
The panels are bulletproof, not explosion-proof, and can be disrupted by certain operators. These panels are useful for covering and strategising.
Rauora, from New Zealand, brings the 417 marksman rifle or M249 LMG as her primary weapon. She also carries the GSH-18 pistol or the new Reaper MK2 machine pistol as her secondary weapon. The Reaper comes with a red dot sight and an extended magazine, making her strong in close combat.
