Xiaomi’s Muralikrishnan B has announced that he will step down from the position of president of the company by the end of this year. He is stepping down to pursue his executive doctorate in management, continuing his academic journey.
He took to LinkedIn to announce the same and mentioned, “After over six years with Xiaomi India, I will be stepping down from my role as the President of Xiaomi India at the end of this year. My journey with Xiaomi has been an incredibly fulfilling learning experience, and I look forward to creating more value and impact by dedicating my time to academics and research.
Further, he said, “ I will pursue my research interests on consumer behavior on technology platforms as part of the Executive Doctorate program at the Indian School of Business (ISB) and help drive synergies between the world of the practitioner of business and that of the academician. Additionally, I will continue to support the company as an independent strategic advisor.”
He joined the company in July 2018 as the Chief Operating Officer and held the role for more than four years.
Before this role, he worked with Myntra Jabong as Senior Vice President of the company, starting from January 2018 to May 2018. From March 2016 to December 2017, he worked as Chief Operating Officer at Jabong. In this role, he managed a more than 400-member team comprising Technology, Product Management, Supply Chain, Customer Experience, Analytics & HR.
From October 2014 to February 2016, he was associated with IndiaProperty.com as Chief Operating Officer. He was a Co-Founder at Almond Wellness Tech and held the position for one year, starting from October 2013 to September 2014. He was also an Entrepreneur in Residence at Nirvana Venture Advisors.
He was associated with eBay as a Country Manager/Senior Director – India, from May 2011 to June 2013. He joined the company as Head of Product Management and held the role for over two years, from August 2005 to December 2007.
Later, he was promoted to the role of Director- Category and Product Management. From January 2010 to May 2011, he held the position of Director- Marketing and Product Management.
In the past, he was also associated with Tata Communications, Sify, and Asian Paints.
