Google is reportedly testing a feature in Google Maps for iPhone users to enhance their navigation experience.
As per the report, this upcoming feature will allow users to choose from various car models and car colors to personalize their navigation experience while using Google Maps.
Currently, Google Maps offers limited customization for vehicle markers. It offers four options: a blue arrow (the default), a red car, a yellow SUV, and a green pickup truck. This feature was first introduced in 2020. It’s been almost four years, and since then, there has been no updates.
It seems Google has listened to us and is now introducing customizable icons for vehicle markers.
According to the report by Android Police, the upcoming update will offer five additional car icons, including a sedan, SUV, Jeep, hatchback, and a model that resembles a Tesla. Also, it will allow users to personalise the icons up to eight colors : Glacier White (the default), Night Black, Aqua Green, Poppy red, and more.
Although, the original blue arrow and the older vehicle icons will remain available.
