The report says the plan does not list unlimited 5G and does not include an OTT subscription. It works out to about Rs 12.43 a day. Airtel’s website shows plan lists only after a mobile number is entered, so these details are from the TelecomTalk report and could not be checked on airtel.in.

How does the Airtel Rs 349 plan differ?
Airtel already sells a Rs 349 plan. TelecomTalk’s comparison says it gives 1.5GB per day, unlimited calls and 100 SMS a day, with unlimited 5G capped at 300GB every 30 days. Extras reported are Adobe Express Premium and Apple Music.
TelecomTalk describes the Rs 348 plan as suited to people who do not use 5G. If your phone and area get 5G, the Rs 349 plan appears better. If you use mostly 4G, the Rs 348 plan gives 0.5GB more every day.
The same outlet reported in September that Airtel’s Rs 379 plan gives 2GB per day with unlimited 5G, Google One and Apple Music. Airtel’s own plan listing was not available to verify these prices.

What does each plan cost per day?
Dividing the price by validity gives a simple way to compare plans. The figures below are calculated from the listed prices and validity, and they do not account for extras such as OTT subscriptions.
| Plan | Validity | Cost per day |
|---|---|---|
| Airtel Rs 348 | 28 days | About Rs 12.43 |
| Jio Rs 349 | 28 days | About Rs 12.46 |
| Jio Rs 399 | 28 days | About Rs 14.25 |
| Jio Rs 899 | 90 days | About Rs 9.99 |
| Jio Rs 999 | 98 days | About Rs 10.19 |

The longer Jio plans work out cheaper per day than the 28-day packs, though they need a bigger payment at one time. The Rs 399 plan costs Rs 50 more than the Rs 349 plan and adds 0.5 GB a day, which is 14 GB over 28 days, plus the Canva Pro offer shown on its card.
Will Jio, Airtel and Vi raise recharge prices soon?
No hike has been announced. The last major round of increases was in July 2024. Brokerages and analysts expect another round of about 15 percent, TelecomTalk reported in June 2026, citing Motilal Oswal and ICRA.
Desidime reported in July that Centrum Institutional Research expects a 12 to 15 percent increase in the October to December quarter. That is an analyst forecast, not a company statement. Desidime also noted that Jio said on an earlier earnings call it had no immediate plans for a formal hike.
Operators may also move towards usage-based pricing, where heavy data users pay more, according to the same reports. Those are expectations, not announcements. Plan prices can change without notice, and the details in this article reflect what was listed or reported on 13 October 2026.
Should you recharge now or wait?
Because no change is confirmed, there is no official reason to rush. A longer plan locks in today’s price for its validity period, which is the only certain way to avoid a hike, but it also means paying more upfront.
Check the plan list inside the Airtel Thanks app or the MyJio app before paying, since prices, validity and bundled benefits can differ by circle and by the time you recharge. Vi’s expansion of 5G is covered in our report on Vodafone Idea 5G in Mumbai.
