Apple has rolled out the iOS 18.3 update for iPhones. It is smaller compared to the first two numbered updates, which introduced big features under Apple Intelligence, the company’s AI suite.
This update brings an important fix to Notification Summaries after recent complaints about the feature showing incorrect news headlines. This also brings some improvements related to the Calculator app and the opt-in system for Apple Intelligence.
The iOS 18.3 update works with all the existing models that support iOS 18, as per Apple’s release notes. One of the key updates is with Notification Summaries. It is now turned off by default and can’t be used for the News & Entertainment category.
Last year, the company launched this feature with iOS 18.1. The feature summarizes notifications to assist users in quickly scanning the important details. However, the company faced criticism for false information appearing in these AI-generated summaries. The new update has turned it off by default. It now also shows a warning saying, “may contain errors.”
Meanwhile, Apple has restored a key feature in the Calculator app with iOS 18.3. Previously, Apple with iOS 18 removed the ability to repeat the last calculation by tapping the equals sign again. But with this updates company restores it.
The update also fixes bugs in Genmoji, HealthKit, and Writing Tools.
