In a move to streamline communication and improve accessibility in Chat, Google Chat has introduced an automatic transcription feature for voice messages.
Now, users will have access to an automatic transcription of voice messages in the Chat on the web and mobile.
According to Google WorkSpace Update, this new feature enables content consumption in a user’s preferred format or the format that is most convenient at that particular moment.
Users can send voice messages on both mobile and web platforms by clicking the microphone icon in the chat box. A paid Google Workspace or Workspace Individual subscription is required.
This feature is available on Android, iOS, and web.
This feature will be by default ON and can be disabled at the domain or OU level by disabling all attachments.

How To Review The Voice Message
To review the transcription of a voice message, click on ‘View transcript’ underneath the voice message. To hide the transcript, select “Hide transcript”.
Voice Messages In Google Chat
After introducing the feature for sending voice messages in Google Chat earlier this year, Google Chat is now rolling out another new feature that will allow users to send video messages, according to 9to5 Google. Users will find a record button in the text field, which will open a new window for recording. Video messages will be displayed in the Media section of the Shared tab.
