The Ministry of Railways has unveiled a Superapp named SwaRail. It is a one-stop solution offering comprehensive railway services to the public. The SwaRail superapp has been created by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS).
The app is currently in beta and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The aim is to enhance user experience with a seamless and clean user interface (UI). It integrates various railway services, eliminating the need for multiple applications and reducing space consumption on user devices.
The app allows users to book reserved, unreserved, and platform tickets. Users can enquire about parcel and freight, train, and PNR status with the help of this app. Users can place food orders on trains and reach out to ‘Rail Madad’ for complaints and queries using the app, as per the Ministry of Railways.
Currently, Indian Railways has different apps for booking tickets and checking train schedules. However, the new SwaRail Superapp integrates all these features into one platform, making it easier for users to do everything from their smartphones.
The app will allow users to access all services using a single set of credentials. Moreover, the same credentials will be used across existing Indian Railways apps like IRCTC RailConnect, UTS Mobile App, etc.
Additionally, users can sign in using their RailConnect or UTS credentials and have multiple login options, including m-PIN and biometric authentication. The Superapp of Indian Railways is slated to be released to the public shortly.
