Microsoft has announced that the company is working on Copilot for Gaming, a new AI-powered assistant for Xbox gamers. This feature is made to streamline the gaming experience; it will help gamers get their favorite games faster, coach them to improve their skills, and connect them better with their friends and communities, as per the blog post. The feature will first launch on smartphones, with Xbox Insiders getting early access.
According to Fatima Kardar, Xbox Corporate Vice President of Gaming AI claims that it can help gamers to set up games on their Xbox, suggest games based on their preferences, and assist them when needed. The AI will let users install or update games easily using simple voice commands.
This will also allow gamers to use natural language commands, and Copilot will provide situation-specific advice to help players overcome challenges and improve their gameplay. Players can ask the AI to show their game progress or check for updates.
Kardar highlighted that the gamers remain in control, deciding how and when to interact with the Copilot, ensuring that it enhances rather than disrupts the gaming experience.
Jason Ronald, Microsoft’s Vice President of Next Generation, shared that over 1,000 titles are now supporting Xbox Play Anywhere. When players purchase an Xbox Play Anywhere game, they can enjoy it on Xbox and Windows 10/11 PCs at no additional cost.
Xbox Play Anywhere titles get 20% more gameplay compared to other games, according to Ronald. These also offer some additional benefits, such as sync progress, achievements, and saves across platforms, giving players a seamless gaming experience.
