Qualcomm has launched its new Snapdragon X platform for budget PCs at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
It is designed for budget-friendly computers. It has eight Oryon CPU cores that can run at speeds of up to 3GHz. It is slower than the Snapdragon X Plus and the Snapdragon X Elite.
The 4nm chipset can support up to 64GB of LPDDR5x RAM and offers a memory bandwidth of 135GB/s.
It features a Qualcomm Adreno GPU that can support up to three external 4K displays at 60Hz. It supports Windows 11 with Copilot+ features, which are usually found on more expensive PCs.
Qualcomm also comes with the Snapdragon X CPUs with a Hexagon NPU, which can deliver 45 trillion operations per second (TOPS) of AI performance. It also supports features such as instant wake and standby efficiency.
It offers strong battery life with up to 163% faster performance compared to other processors.
It also offers impressive Bluetooth features like Bluetooth 5.4, Qualcomm Aqstic audio, and Qualcomm aptX Audio support.
For optics, it offers an Integrated Always-Sensing ISP with 18-bit depth, MIPI camera support, and 4K HDR video capture, making webcams look much better. Besides laptops, the Snapdragon X will also be used in mini desktop PCs.
It also offers a wide range of connectivity, including Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 7, and 5G. This month will see the global launch and partners include Acer, ASUS, HP, DELL, and Lenovo.
