Reliance Jio is offering complimentary access to JioHotstar with one of its prepaid plans. The Reliance and Disney Joint Venture launched JioHotstar last week. This platform merges Jiocinema and Disney+ Hotstar content to offer a refreshed version of Disney+ Hotstar. While users can choose to subscribe monthly or yearly, Jio customers can now enjoy it for free by recharging with a specific prepaid plan.
Jio’s Rs 949 prepaid plan now provides free access to JioHotstar with ads for 90 days. The validation of the plan is for 84 days. It comes with unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, and 2GB of high-speed 5G data daily. Once the daily data limit is used up, the speed drops to 64kbps.
With free access to JioHotstar, it also offers access to other Jio apps such as JioCloud and JioTV. JioHotstar’s ad-supported plan costs Rs 149 per month, It allows streaming on one mobile device in 720p quality. The premium plan costs Rs 299 per month or Rs 1,499 per year.
As per the company, JioHotStar offers around 300,000 hours of content and live sports coverage. It will provide content in 10 different Indian languages in a wide range of genres and content formats. It will allow users to enjoy movies, shows, anime, documentaries, and live sporting events.
The current subscribers of both JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar will automatically switch to the new JioHotstar app once their subscriptions end, and the JioCinema app will be discontinued. The company says that when users log in for the first time, they can set up their new subscription.
New users can explore JioHotstar’s plans, starting at Rs 149 for three months with ads, while an ad-free premium plan costs Rs 499.
