Meta is reportedly working on a new chat memory feature for its Meta AI to enhance users’ experience.
According to the WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo, the new feature will be more personalised to users’ preferences, as it allows users to ask Meta AI to remember particular information about themselves.
After the implementation of this feature, Meta AI will automatically memorise the details of the users shared with the chatbot.
The AI can recall personal information such as interests and dietary preferences, as well as distinct conversational styles.
Meta AI will deliver more personalised responses based on the information shared with the chatbot.
This feature was observed in the Android 2.24.22.9 beta version of WhatsApp.

The WhatsApp feature tracker also shared some screenshots. According to the posted screenshots, WhatsApp has added a new memory section to the Meta AI contact card. This section will have all of the information provided by users for Meta AI to remember. Users can also direct Meta AI to keep information by asking the chatbot to ‘remember this.’
Users will have full control over what information Meta AI stores, as it allows users to update or delete information at any time, as per the report of WABetainfo.
