Amazon has introduced a generative AI-powered feature ‘X-Ray Recaps’ on Prime Video, that creates brief, concise summaries of full seasons of TV shows, single episodes, and even pieces of episodes, all personalized down to the exact minute of where you are watching.
This new AI-powered feature delivers short textual snippets of key cliffhangers, character-driven plot points, and other details that can be accessed at any point in your viewing experience. This is built upon Prime Video’s existing X-Ray features.
According to the company’s blog post, this will provide a summary of the TV show or episodes without giving a spoiler, as guardrails are in place to ensure viewers can enjoy their favorite shows without any surprises being spoiled.
Powered by Amazon Bedrock, X-Ray Recaps utilizes a mix of Amazon Bedrock models and custom AI models trained on Amazon SageMaker to analyze different video segments, along with subtitles or dialogue. This helps to generate detailed descriptions of important events, places, times, and conversations, as per the company.
Availability
X-Ray Recaps is available in beta for Fire TV customers in the US. Support for additional devices will be available by the end of this year. For now, customers can utilize X-Ray Recaps on Amazon MGM Studios Original series like Daisy Jones and the Six, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Wheel of Time, and The Boys.
