At the recent IFA 2024, HMD (Human Mobile Devices) unveiled the ‘Fusion’ as a smartphone alongside V2.0 of the dev toolkit.
HMD began marketing Nokia-branded smartphones and feature phones on 1 December 2016 and has exclusive rights to the Nokia brand for mobile phones.
As per NokiaMob.net, the HMD Fusion project was first announced at the recent MWC 2024 in the form of a development toolkit for a modular smartphone platform. The launch mentioned the inclusion of a ‘pogo pin’ hardware interface for cases and attachments known as ‘Outfits’. It also has CAD files and API access to allow individuals and businesses to develop their Outfits.

These Smart Interchangeable Outfits can be attached to the device through six pins.
The Outfits include a Casual Outfit (a TPU case); a Flashy Outfit with an integrated LED ring light; a Rugged Outfit to offer IP68 protection; a magnetic wireless charging outfit; and a game controller outfit.
Other Specifications
HMD Fusion comes in a semi-transparent plastic shell which comes in one color – Black. The shell is said to enable easy repairs and fast access to the battery, screen, and other key components.
The smartphone has a 6.56-inch IPS LCD with HD+resolution, a 90 Hz refresh rate, and a 50 MP front camera with fixed focus. On the back, it has a 108 MP rear camera with Smart EIS and a 2MP depth sensor.
The battery game is also strong with a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 33W charging. The battery life is said to last up to 65 hours on a single charge.
The HMD Fusion will be powered by Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC with up to 8GB RAM enhancing the performance and giving tough competition to its rivals in the market.
Pricing & Availability
HMD Fusion is priced at €269.99 for the 6GB RAM variant and 128GB of storage, and €299.99 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The smartphone was launched earlier in September 2024 and is available for purchase across Europe.
