The 16GB RAM variant sold in some global markets is not part of the India line-up, and a 1TB Ultra variant is also not listed for India. Buyers who need more space can use the microSD slot instead of paying Rs 20,000 for the 512GB model.
What is new compared with the Tab S11 Ultra?
The main change is the chip. Samsung says the Dimensity 9500 delivers a CPU that is up to 19 per cent faster, a GPU up to 17 per cent faster and an NPU up to 61 per cent faster than the previous generation. These are company claims and have not been independently tested.
The 14.6-inch display, 5.1mm thickness and 11,600mAh battery of the Ultra are the same as on the Tab S11 Ultra, according to Smartprix. Buyers of the older model will find the upgrade mostly in speed and software.

Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra vs Tab S12+: which one to pick?
| Point | Tab S12 Ultra | Tab S12+ |
|---|---|---|
| Screen size | 14.6 inches | 12.6 inches |
| Starting price (Wi-Fi, 256GB) | Rs 1,49,999 | Rs 1,29,999 |

| Battery | 11,600mAh | 10,600mAh |
| Keyboard cover price | Rs 27,999 | Rs 26,499 |
The Ultra has a resolution of 2960 x 1848, according to Smartprix. The extra Rs 20,000 buys a larger screen and a bigger battery. The Tab S12+ is the lighter option for people who carry the tablet daily and care less about screen size.
Both models have quad speakers with four-channel spatial audio and IP68 dust and water resistance. Adding the keyboard cover raises the starting price to Rs 1,77,998 for the Ultra and Rs 1,56,498 for the Tab S12+, before any offer, based on the listed prices.
Battery life and charging
Samsung quotes up to 23 hours of battery life for the Ultra and up to 21 hours for the Tab S12+. Both charge at 45W, and Samsung says a full charge takes about 95 minutes. The charging adapter is not confirmed as part of the box contents in the reports we reviewed, so check this before buying.
Software, Galaxy AI and update policy
The tablets ship with Android 17 and One UI 9, with Galaxy AI features such as Note Assist and Multi Window, and Gemini integration. Adobe Photoshop comes pre-installed with S Pen support. Reports say Samsung promises up to seven years of updates, which is long for a tablet.
Samsung has also included a six-month Google AI Pro trial, four months of the Photoshop mobile plan, a year of Goodnotes and a discount on LumaFusion, as listed by T2 Online.
Launch offers on the Galaxy Tab S12 series
Samsung has listed several offers that cannot be combined with each other, according to Fone Arena.
- Cashback of up to Rs 5,000 on bank cards.
- An upgrade bonus of up to Rs 5,000.
- Rs 15,000 off when buying a tablet along with an eligible Galaxy phone, such as the S26 Ultra or S25 Ultra.
- 15 per cent off Galaxy Buds4 or Buds4 Pro, or 30 per cent off the Pro Keyboard Cover, with a tablet.
- No-cost EMI for up to 24 months through participating banks and NBFCs.
Spread over 24 months, the base Tab S12 Ultra works out to roughly Rs 6,250 a month and the base Tab S12+ to roughly Rs 5,417 a month, before bank terms and any card eligibility rules. Since the offers are mutually exclusive, compare the cashback against the bundle discounts before paying.
Should you buy the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra?
The Tab S12 series is priced for buyers who want a laptop-style tablet with a stylus. The S12+ is the smaller option at Rs 1,29,999, and the 14.6-inch Ultra adds screen size and battery for Rs 20,000 more in the base Wi-Fi form.
The 5G models make sense only if you need mobile data away from Wi-Fi, since they add Rs 15,000. Samsung also sells cheaper tablets, and our earlier coverage of the Galaxy A26 5G and Galaxy F16 shows how its mid-range devices are priced. Samsung’s software rollouts are covered in our note on the One UI 7 expansion.
