Apple is reportedly working on a new App Store-like app dedicated to games for gamers.
According to a 9to5Mac report, the new app will combine features from both the App Store and Game Center in one platform.
The new app will not replace the Game Center. It will integrate with the user’s Game Center profile.
As per the report of 9to5Mac, the app will feature multiple tabs, including a ‘Play Now’ tab, a tab for the user’s games, friends, and more. The Play Now tab will carry editorial content and game suggestions for gamers. This app will also display challenges, leaderboards, and achievements.
The new store will contain games from the App Store and Apple Arcade. It will also allow users to see their friend’s activities, and check their game library. Reportedly the app will also feature special gaming events and important updates.
As per the report, to make this app more appealing to gamers, Apple is working on integrating FaceTime and iMessage into its upcoming gaming app. This will help gamers to communicate with each other.
Additionally, the company is also considering allowing developers to create mini-games based on App Clips.
