Apple’s new 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M6 chip went on sale in India on 6 November 2026, starting at Rs 2,39,900 for 16GB of memory and a 1TB SSD. The new iMac with M6 also went on sale the same day, priced from Rs 1,74,900. Both were announced on 27 October and are sold through Apple’s online store, Apple Stores and authorised resellers.

The 24-hour figure is Apple’s claim for video playback, and Apple calls it the longest battery life ever on a Mac. With a 96W or higher adapter, it charges to 50 percent in about 30 minutes.
What is new over the M5 model
The M6 chip has two more CPU cores and two more GPU cores than the M5 in last year’s base MacBook Pro. Each GPU core has its own Neural Accelerator. Apple’s own comparisons against the 14-inch M5 MacBook Pro claim:

What about the touchscreen MacBook Pro?
Apple also announced a separate MacBook Pro with a PROLED XDR touchscreen display, Apple’s first touchscreen Mac. It runs on M5 Pro or M5 Max, not M6, and is priced from Rs 3,49,900 for the 14-inch M5 Pro model. Apple’s India release gives two different availability dates for it, so check the store before planning a purchase.
Should you buy it?
For most buyers, the base 16GB and 1TB model is the one to look at, since the step to 24GB costs Rs 24,000. Anyone who bought an M5 MacBook Pro last year does not need to upgrade.
